Property tax help in Jersey City

Jersey City property taxes are collected by the City of Jersey City Tax Collector at City Hall, 280 Grove Street, and can also be paid online. The city says unpaid taxes still owed after the November due date become a lien that is offered at its annual tax sale. If the lien isn't repaid within two years of the sale, the lienholder can start foreclosure. The city asks owners who are having trouble paying property tax, water, or sewer bills to contact its office.
